The Gasse School of Music offers individual and group lessons in violin, viola, cello, piano, and guitar. We are dedicated to a simple, two-point mission:

We use both the Suzuki and traditional teaching techniques, including sight reading, audition, and performance skills.

The Gasse School of Music (GSM) is an extremely efficient music school for strings in the near west suburbs of Chicago. Students from GSM held first and second chair on the school orchestras of the Near West suburbs of Chicago (Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Berwyn, Riverside, Chicago’s west side ongoing for the last 10 years).  Even better: GSM has placed students as interns in the Oak Park River Forest Symphony every year for the last 6 years.

We also have the most engaging program for piano students, preparing them not only for solo playing but also for chamber music and piano accompaniment.  We have chamber groups with piano students from 7 years old up.

Our guitar teachers prepare students for Classical style as well as Jazz, Blues, Rock or any style you’d like.

The GSM has a proven track record of offering quality music lessons in Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Berwyn, Riverside area year round for more than 10 years. Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, in our waiting room children can play with toys, read books or do homework, while parents can read magazines or work in their laptops. Even better:  Parents can sit in on their children’s lesson anytime they like.

7. Free, all inclusive music recitals.

Every May and November, our students have the option of performing in our recitals. Students are not required to perform, but many choose to. Parents never have to pay admission or any related fees for these recitals.

Many music studio desks are staffed by the teacher/owner or more commonly an answering machine. We have an office manager who can answer all your questions available Monday to Friday from 8 to 12 and from 1 to 3.  If you miss her be sure that all messages (paper notes, phone or e-mails) will be answered within 24 business hours (no Saturdays or Sundays).

Our location is convenient to the entire Near West Chicago Area.

10. Month to Month lessons.

Starting in September 2012, GSM won’t require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here will be on a month-to-month basis.
